Is ProBart free to use?
Yes, completely. Posting listings, browsing, and trading are all free. ProBart is a community tool, not a marketplace.
Do I need to be a member of a community garden?
You should be connected to one of the participating gardens in town. If your garden isn't listed yet, contact us and we'll add it.
What if a trade falls through?
It happens. Just re-list your item or reach out to another gardener. There's no penalty — trades are informal agreements between neighbors.
Can I trade seeds for vegetables, or does it have to be like-for-like?
Trade whatever makes sense to both parties. Tomatoes for basil, seeds for herbs, a big zucchini for three small cucumbers — it's up to you.
How do I know the produce is safe?
You're trading with neighbors you can meet in person. Use your judgment, ask questions, and inspect what you're getting before you swap.
